A cyclist riding lawfully in a marked lane may be found contributorily negligent for failing to allow a margin of safety when passing a slow-moving vehicle that was apparently looking for a parking space, even where the driver failed to indicate before changing lanes. The entitlement to assume other road users will observe road rules does not relieve a cyclist of the obligation to take reasonable care for their own safety in circumstances where the possibility of a breach is apparent.
