A sentence of 12 months imprisonment served by way of intensive correction order may be within the sentencing range for unlawful wounding involving deliberate use of broken bottles as weapons where the offender was 18 years old, had no relevant criminal history, demonstrated excellent rehabilitation prospects, and the injuries were relatively minor. Such a sentence is at the very lower limit of the range. Post-sentence rehabilitation remains a relevant consideration on an Attorney-General's appeal against sentence.
