A person may be 'aggrieved by the deregistration' under s 601AH(2) of the Corporations Act 2001 by reason of events occurring after deregistration, provided there is a causal link between the deregistration and the grievance. The grievance must be genuine, real and not merely theoretical, petty or fanciful, but need not be of any particular type (financial, legal or otherwise). Knowledge of the deregistration at the time of acquiring an interest does not preclude standing. It is generally inappropriate on a reinstatement application to determine the likely outcome of proposed litigation by the reinstated company.
