The totality principle from Johnson v The Queen requiring careful regard to common elements in multiple offences does not apply where the only commonality is that drugs were found together in the same location; separate packaging, different drug types, and the absence of a common inducement, payment, or receipt distinguish the case from Johnson. Delay between charging and trial attributable to the priority of other proceedings, without demonstrated exceptional rehabilitation by the offender, does not warrant special reduction in sentence beyond the sentencing judge's general acknowledgment of the delay as a factor.
