Possession of 500 MDMA tablets with intent to sell or supply, where the offender is dealing for reward at above street level, ordinarily requires immediate imprisonment notwithstanding youth, no prior convictions, and good employment record. The fact that an offender deals drugs to finance their own drug habit does not, without more, mitigate the offence. A suspended sentence for drug trafficking at this level of seriousness is manifestly inadequate.
