Where multiple offences represent different stages of a criminal enterprise (cultivation, supply, and proceeds), they represent different aspects of criminality and should not simply be made concurrent after Pearce v The Queen. However, where the overall sentence is appropriate notwithstanding that individual sentences are excessive, the court may decline to restructure the sentences to achieve the same result.
