Corroborative evidence need not itself establish the commission of the offence or the accused's involvement; it is sufficient if it independently renders the evidence to be corroborated more probable in some material particular. Evidence showing a confession to be true (by confirming facts not known to the recipient) is capable of corroborating the making of the confession. A reference to 'proportionality' in provocation directions does not create an impermissible additional requirement where, read as a whole, the directions make clear that proportionality is part of the ordinary person test.
