Damages for future commercial domestic assistance may be awarded where gratuitous care is currently being provided, but only if the evidence justifies a conclusion that the contingency of needing commercial care will occur; a remote though not entirely fanciful chance is insufficient. There is no conventional percentage allowance (analogous to the 15% vicissitudes discount) for the possibility that gratuitous care may cease. Awards for economic loss require affirmative findings of residual earning capacity, not merely theoretical or speculative possibilities.
