Not all communications between a person and the Legal Aid Commission are subject to client legal privilege; where such communications are relied upon in court proceedings, they must be disclosed to the other party. Delay by the Legal Aid Review Committee in determining a review application may support a finding that an applicant is unlikely to obtain legal assistance outside the pro bono scheme for the purposes of UCPR r 7.36.
