A total effective sentence of 13 years' imprisonment with a 9-year non-parole period for stranger rape involving abduction, violence, and threats to kill is within the permissible range. Where abduction for the purposes of sexual penetration involves discrete conduct (forcing victim into vehicle, driving to secluded location, false imprisonment) beyond the elements of the rape itself, cumulation of part of the abduction sentence on the rape sentence does not constitute double punishment.
