For low-level MDMA trafficking by a very young offender acting as a middle man without monetary profit, a head sentence of three years' imprisonment is appropriate but a parole release date of six months may be manifestly excessive where the offender has strong mitigating circumstances including youth, early guilty plea, frank admissions, no relevant criminal history, lengthy period on bail without reoffending, employment, and family support. Immediate parole release may be warranted in such circumstances.
