A contract for the processing of quarry materials ('contract crushing') at the quarry operator's premises, where the operator then sells the processed materials to its own customers for use in construction, is not a 'construction contract' under BCIPA. The definitions of 'related goods and services' and 'construction work' require a purposive connection to identifiable construction work at the time of the contract, not merely that the materials may ultimately be used in construction. The 'remedial legislation' approach to statutory interpretation does not apply to stretch the definitional provisions of BCIPA.
