The Tillott guidelines for EMDR-produced evidence are procedural safeguards, not mandatory requirements for admissibility, and the trial judge retains a discretion to admit evidence despite non-compliance. A trial judge's willingness to entertain repeated submissions and revise rulings demonstrates an open mind and negates any apprehension of bias. The unavailability of a particular jury direction (such as a Longman warning) cannot by itself justify a permanent stay of proceedings.
