Physical similarity of offending conduct alone does not make cases relevantly comparable for sentencing purposes; the circumstances of the offending and the offender must be materially similar. A sentence of 4 years and 6 months for licking the vagina of a 6-year-old child in the appellant's care, following conviction at trial with no remorse, was within range notwithstanding that it was almost 50% higher than sentences in cases involving physically similar conduct.
