A sentencing judge is not required to recite on a point-by-point basis the factors identified in De La Rosa when sentencing an offender with mental health and intellectual issues, provided the sentencing remarks demonstrate thorough consideration of the offender's particular circumstances. The seriousness of sustained domestic violence offending and a prior history of violence may require a significant custodial sentence notwithstanding an offender's mental health issues, intellectual disability, and substance abuse.
