A sentence of 11 years and 6 months with a non-parole period of 8 years and 6 months is within the appropriate range for trafficking in a large commercial quantity of heroin (11.1 kg) by a senior manager of the enterprise who has a prior conviction for the same type of offence. A sentencing judge is not required to determine with mathematical precision an offender's role relative to co-offenders in a joint criminal enterprise where the evidence clearly establishes the offender's senior managerial role. A s 6AAA statement is not a sentence or order from which an appeal lies.
