A substantial shareholder of long standing may discharge the onus of good faith and proper purpose by those facts alone in section 247A applications, and delay, failure to make preliminary enquiries, continued share purchases, and the possible availability of documents elsewhere are unlikely to defeat an application where the primary judge has accepted the applicant's evidence.
