A cleaning contractor who creates a hazard by leaving floors wet owes a duty to take reasonable care not to leave the wet area unguarded by warning signs. The placement of 'wet floor' signs in adjoining areas, but not in the specific area left wet, is insufficient to establish that a person acting reasonably should have been aware of the hazard, and is insufficient to ground a defence of contributory negligence or obvious risk. Chairs on tables alone do not indicate the floor is wet where the usual cleaning system involves both chairs on tables and 'wet floor' signs delineating the cleaned area.
