A sentence of 10 years' imprisonment with a serious violent offence declaration is within the proper sentencing range for a principal of a sophisticated, large-scale cannabis trafficking operation involving over 2,800 kilograms transported on more than 100 occasions over 15 months, even where the offender pleads guilty in a timely manner and has a limited criminal history. The fact that the drug is a Schedule 2 drug (cannabis) does not preclude a sentence at this level where the scale and sophistication of the operation are significant.
