Where offending involves interlinked drug cultivation and dishonesty offences (procuring premises through false documents for the purpose of cannabis cultivation), the sentencing exercise should not be disaggregated by treating the cultivation charge as the primary offence for the purpose of assessing sentencing range. The totality of the interlinked offending must be considered. A gambling disorder, while accepted as a mitigating factor, carries limited weight where the offender has no history of attempting to address the addiction and has reoffended shortly after release from a prior sentence.
