Rehabilitation demonstrated during pre-sentence delay on remand is a separate and additional mitigating factor, not one that diminishes the weight to be given to delay itself. The parity principle requires sentencing judges to give adequate weight to a co-offender's lesser role, even where the prosecution has accepted that lesser role. An offender aged 27 at sentencing is unlikely to be considered a 'relatively youthful offender' for sentencing purposes.
