The offence of aggravated burglary persists while the offender remains inside the premises, so events after entry (including production of a weapon) are relevant to sentencing for that offence. However, acts constituting a separate uncharged offence cannot be treated as aggravating features of the aggravated burglary. Where co-offenders receive the same sentence for aggravated burglary, the parity principle is satisfied if factors increasing one offender's culpability are offset by countervailing mitigating factors.
