Following Attwells, a negligence suit against lawyers for advice given in connection with the settlement of litigation cannot be summarily dismissed on the basis of advocate's immunity, because the immunity does not extend to settlement advice even where the settlement is embodied in consent orders. A judge is not obliged to delay judgment merely because special leave has been granted in a High Court appeal raising substantially similar issues, though the grant of an adjournment remains discretionary.
