Acquittals on some sexual offence charges involving the same complainant do not necessarily render a conviction on another charge inconsistent, where the circumstances of each charge differ — particularly where medical evidence independently supports the complainant's account on the convicted charge and the evidence of communicated non-consent is markedly stronger on that charge than on the acquitted charges.
