Where a notice of appeal has been found non-compliant with UCPR r 747(1)(b) and leave is required to file a further notice, the leave application is confined to whether intelligible and compliant grounds can be articulated; it does not extend to assessing the prospects of those grounds. A self-represented litigant's limitations in legal expression should not bar their entitlement to appeal where grounds can be expressed in intelligible form.
