Where an appellant will serve all or substantially all of the non-parole period of a sentence before an appeal can be heard, and at least one ground of appeal is sufficiently strong on a preliminary basis, exceptional reasons for bail pending appeal are demonstrated under cl 4A of pt C of sch 1 to the Bail Act 1982 (WA).
