Where an offender is sentenced for multiple s.27 Crimes Act 1900 offences against separate victims, the aggregate sentence must tangibly reflect the harm done to each victim through meaningful accumulation; a powerful subjective case including mental illness and gender dysphoria, while reducing moral culpability, cannot overshadow the objective gravity of attempted murder offences to the point where the sentence fails to reflect reasonable proportionality. A non-parole period of 4.5 years for three s.27 offences committed after trial was manifestly inadequate.
