QCAT does not have power to direct a registered health practitioner to undergo a compulsory health assessment in the course of an administrative review of a decision to impose conditions on registration, either under the broad directions power in s 62 of the QCAT Act or under s 169 of the National Law. However, QCAT may stay proceedings until a practitioner voluntarily attends a health assessment. The s 169 health assessment power is confined to the investigative phase of the Board's regulatory functions.
