A sentencing judge's favourable findings drawn from limited available material (such as a sentencing assessment report) may cure deficiencies in the presentation of the subjective case, where the omitted evidence (including psychological reports, lay evidence, and cultural context) would not have been capable of materially affecting the sentencing outcome. Cultural obligation to obey a parent does not reduce moral culpability for dangerous driving where the offender knew the driving was dangerous.
