Appeals of Medical Council decisions under s 159B of the National Law on a point of law must be brought within 28 days under r 25(4) of the NCAT Rules, notwithstanding the silence of s 161 on time limits for such appeals. Practitioners who decline to participate in s 150 hearings after receiving adequate notice cannot later claim denial of procedural fairness.
