A sentence of nine years imprisonment with parole eligibility after four years was upheld for a mother who aided her husband's sexual offending against their daughters over four years, where the offending included seven counts of rape and four counts of indecent treatment. The Court indicated that a higher sentence attracting a serious violent offence declaration may also have been sustainable. The domestic violence aggravating factor under s 9(10A) of the Penalties and Sentences Act 1992 (Qld) applied and no exceptional circumstances were found to displace it.
