Where a sentencing judge accidentally transposes charges when pronouncing sentence but correctly identifies the charges and their circumstances in the sentencing reasons, the error is an accidental slip correctable under s 104A(5A) of the Sentencing Act 1991 and does not constitute a miscarriage of the sentencing discretion. Prolonged sexual offending with interruptions mandates more than minimal cumulation, and prolonged sexual offending becomes more serious the longer it continues.
