A 20% discount for cooperation with law enforcement authorities was upheld as within the range of a sound sentencing discretion where the offender's assistance, though significant and proactive, concerned lower-level offending than the offender's own, was in the nature of information rather than witness statements, and there was no evidence of onerous prison conditions. Where a separate 20% discount has been allowed for a guilty plea, there is less scope for a large further discount for cooperation while maintaining a sentence commensurate with the seriousness of the offending.
