An aggregate sentence of eight years and six months' imprisonment with a four-year non-parole period for 30 offences of commercial burglary, theft, property damage and driving offences committed over nine days was confirmed as within the sentencing discretion. There is no binding practice in the ACT requiring theft sentences to be made entirely concurrent with associated burglary sentences; the degree of accumulation is a matter for the sentencing judge's discretion in each case.
