Acquittals on some counts of a multi-count sexual offence indictment do not render guilty verdicts on other counts unreasonable where the acquittals are explicable by factors unrelated to the complainant's credibility, such as evidentiary gaps in the Crown case on specific counts, inconsistencies with early complaint evidence, or contradictory evidence from other witnesses. The applicant's own admissions of the physical acts charged, combined with evidence of sexual interest in the complainant, provided a sufficient basis for the jury's guilty verdicts on the sexual touching counts.
