The Supreme Court's supervisory jurisdiction over inferior courts does not extend to fragmenting committal proceedings absent jurisdictional error, and interlocutory orders of the Magistrates Court made under s 83A of the Justices Act 1886 (Qld) are not challengeable by way of originating application in the Supreme Court. Section 222 of the Justices Act does not provide a right of appeal from interlocutory orders of the Magistrates Court.
