The Court imposed an aggregate sentence of 2 years and 6 months' imprisonment for two counts of ongoing supply of methylamphetamine (totalling approximately 109 grams over three months), reduced to 2 years and 1 month to account for pre-sentence custody, to be served by way of an Intensive Corrections Order. The Court held that community safety was best secured by allowing the offender to continue rehabilitation in the community rather than returning to full-time custody, having regard to her completion of residential rehabilitation, role as full-time carer for her mother with dementia, and the parity principle given co-offenders received ICOs. A 25% discount was applied for early guilty pleas in the Local Court.
