91 Identity cards
The director-general must give an authorised person an identity card that—
states the authorised person’s name; and
states that the person is an authorised person; and
includes a recent photograph of the person; and
states the card’s date of issue and expiry; and
includes anything else prescribed by regulation.
A person must return their identity card to the director-general within 7 days after the day the person stops being an authorised person.
Maximum penalty: 1 penalty unit.
Subsection (2) does not apply to a person if their identity card is—
lost or stolen; or
destroyed by someone else.
The defendant has an evidential burden in relation to the matters mentioned in s (3) (see Criminal Code, s 58).
An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
