94 Direction to give information
An authorised person may, in writing, direct a person to give the authorised person information, a document or other thing within a stated reasonable period if the information, document or thing is reasonably required by the authorised person for this Act.
The Legislation Act, s 171 deals with the application of client legal privilege.
The person must take reasonable steps to comply with the direction.
Maximum penalty: 50 penalty units.
Subsection (2) does not apply unless the authorised person—
complies with section 92 (Requirements before certain powers can be exercised); and
explains the effect of section 93 (Privilege against self‑incrimination does not apply).
The defendant has an evidential burden in relation to the matters mentioned in s (3) (see Criminal Code, s 58).
