21 Meaning of reasonable steps
For this Act, a person takes reasonable steps to manage a biosecurity risk if the person takes the steps they are reasonably able to take, taking into account all relevant matters including—
the nature of the risk; and
the degree of biosecurity impact that arises, or may arise, from the risk; and
what the person knows about—
the risk; and
the ways of managing the risk; and
the availability and suitability of ways to manage the risk; and
the cost of available ways of managing the risk, including whether the cost is grossly disproportionate to the risk.
