127AA Consumer representative—appointment
The Minister may appoint a person to advise the Minister about the interests of owners in relation to approved schemes (a consumer representative).
For laws about appointments, see the Legislation Act, pt 19.3.
The Minister must not appoint a public servant or a person who represents the building and construction industry as the consumer representative.
A regulation may prescribe criteria for the appointment of a person as the consumer representative.
An appointment as the consumer representative must be for not longer than 3 years.
An appointment is a notifiable instrument.
The conditions of the consumer representative’s appointment are the conditions agreed between the Minister and the person.
