Register of civil union celebrants
16 Register of civil union celebrants
The registrar-general must keep a register of people registered as civil union celebrants under this Act.
The register may be kept in any form, including electronically, that the registrar-general decides.
The register must include the following information for each person registered as a civil union celebrant:
the person’s full name;
the person’s address and contact details;
the date the person was registered;
if the person’s registration is cancelled or the person otherwise stops being registered—the date the registration stops.
The register may also include any other information the registrar‑general considers appropriate.
The register must be available for public inspection at reasonable times.
However, a person’s address and contact details and any other information included in the register about the person under subsection (4) must only be available for public inspection if the person consents.
