Court Procedures Rules 2006

This rule applies if, before or after a proceeding starts, parties to the proceeding agree that a document relating to the proceeding may be served on 1 or more of the parties, or someone else for 1 or more of the parties, in a way or at a place, in the ACT or somewhere else, stated in the agreement.

This rule does not apply to a criminal proceeding (see r 4006 (Criminal proceedings—application of pt 6.8)).

The document may be served in accordance with the agreement.

For any provision of these rules requiring personal service of a document on a party to the agreement, service of the document on the party in accordance with the agreement is taken to be personal service on the party.
