Offences in relation to railways

In force

A person who, with intent to obstruct, damage or destroy any light rail vehicle, railway engine, tender, carriage or truck—

(a)

deposits any article or material on or across a railway; or

(b)

removes or displaces any rail, sleeper or other thing belonging to a railway; or

(c)

moves or diverts, or fails to move or divert, any point or other machinery belonging to a railway; or

(d)

displays, masks or removes any signal or light on or near a railway;

or who does, or causes to be done, any other thing with that intent, commits an offence.

Maximum penalty: 200 penalty units, imprisonment for 10 years or both.
