423 Sabotage
(1)
A person commits an offence if—
(a)
the person causes damage to a public facility by committing a property offence or by causing an unauthorised computer function; and
(b)
the person intends to cause—
(i)
major disruption to government functions; or
(ii)
major disruption to the use of services by the public; or
(iii)
major economic loss.
Maximum penalty: 2 500 penalty units, imprisonment for 25 years or both.
(2)
To remove any doubt, a person does not commit an offence against this section only because the person takes part in a protest, strike or lockout.
