714 Publication that could cause miscarriage of justice
(1)
A person commits an offence if—
(a)
the person publishes something that could cause a miscarriage of justice in a legal proceeding; and
(b)
the person does so with the intention of causing a miscarriage of justice in the proceeding.
Maximum penalty: 1 000 penalty units, imprisonment for 10 years or both.
(2)
A person commits an offence if—
(a)
the person publishes something that could cause a miscarriage of justice in a legal proceeding; and
(b)
the person is reckless about whether publishing the thing could cause a miscarriage of justice in the proceeding.
Maximum penalty: 700 penalty units, imprisonment for 7 years or both.
