Contravention of improvement notices

(1)

The relevant responsible person for an improvement notice commits an offence if the person fails to take all reasonable steps to comply with a requirement of the notice.

Maximum penalty: 100 penalty units.

Note

If an improvement notice is given to 2 or more responsible people for a dangerous substance, each of them must comply with the notice (see s 21).

An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
