Dangerous Substances Act 2004

This section applies only to an inspector appointed under section 207 (2).

The work health and safety commissioner must give each inspector an identity card that states the person’s name and appointment as an inspector, and shows—

a recent photograph of the person; and

the date of issue of the card; and

the date of expiry of the card; and

anything else prescribed by regulation.

A person commits an offence if—

the person ceases to be an inspector; and

the person does not return the person’s identity card to the work health and safety commissioner as soon as practicable (but within 7 days) after the day the person ceases to be an inspector.

An offence against this section is a strict liability offence.
