Electoral Act 1992

For this part, the disclosure period in relation to an election is the period beginning on the disclosure day and ending at the end of the 30th day after polling day.

In subsection (1):

disclosure day, in relation to an election, means—

for a candidate who was a candidate in an election the polling day for which was within 5 years before polling day for the firstmentioned election—the 31st day after polling day for the last election before the firstmentioned election; or

for a candidate to whom paragraph (a) does not apply—

if the candidate won party preselection, or endorsement, for the election—the day when preselection, or endorsement, was won; or

in any other case—the earlier of the following days:

the day when the person publicly announced that they would be a candidate in the election; or

the day when the person was nominated in accordance with section 105; or

for a third‑party campaigner—the 31st day after polling day for the last previous election.
