Electoral Act 1992

If an amount is payable under this division for votes cast in an election for 1 or more candidates endorsed by a party, the commissioner must make the payment to the registered officer of the party.

If an amount is payable under this division for votes cast in an election for a candidate who was not endorsed by a party for the election, the commissioner must make the payment to the candidate.

If a payment is made under this section and the recipient is not entitled to receive the whole or a part of the amount paid, the amount or the part of the amount may be recovered by the Territory as a debt due.
